Ideally, Constellation's Board of Directors would have representation from parents, educators, and community members, with at least one person with a strong investment in Waldorf philosophy.  

All Board Directors must:

• Work collaboratively to develop and maintain a Public Waldorf school that focuses on diversity, equity, inclusion and access

• Participate in weekly Board meetings for an hour and a half, during this planning phase 

• Work on committee(s) and support committee chairs
   

The Board, councils and committees operate using integrative consent, a rapid form of deliberative decision-making which includes the perspectives of those who will carry out the decision.

All attempts should be made to acquire diversity in experience, training and education to provide for the best global approach to assist the functionality of the school.

• Once the application is received, and in the event that the applicant meets the qualifications for one of the openings set forth below, the applicant will be contacted by a board member regarding any available openings.

• The applicant will be invited to attend a board meeting and an informal conversation with the entire board. 

• The Board will then discuss and deem if a vote to add a new member is appropriate.

Members should ideally be actively employed, involved, or have significant experience in one or more of the following: 

• Education, charter, and/or Waldorf background preferred

• Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

• Law*

• Finance or Accounting – ideally a CPA/accountant/CFO*

• Fundraising*

• Human Resources

• Public Relations/Marketing

• Philanthropy/Non-Profit Administration

• Insurance

• Commercial Real Estate/ Land Development – ideally in school/public arena
