Make a difference! A school for the community, by the community!

The Constellation Charter School Board of Directors would like to invite dedicated individuals who are passionate about accessible Waldorf education and educational equity to join us as we expand our board and enter our opening year! Founding board members' children will receive enrollment preference during any years when the school receives federal charter school funding.

*all candidates must attend a Board of Directors meeting prior to accepting an appointment to the Board

REQUIREMENTS OF BOARD MEMBERS

Ideally, Constellation's Board of Directors would have representation from parents, educators, and community members, with at least one person with a strong investment in Waldorf philosophy.

All Board Directors must:

Work collaboratively to develop and maintain a Public Waldorf school that focuses on diversity, equity, inclusion and access
Participate in weekly Board meetings for an hour and a half, during this planning phase
Work on committee(s) and support committee chairs

The Board, councils and committees operate using integrative consent, a rapid form of deliberative decision-making which includes the perspectives of those who will carry out the decision.

PROCESS FOR BOARD MEMBER SELECTION

All attempts should be made to acquire diversity in experience, training and education to provide for the best global approach to assist the functionality of the school.

Once the application is received, and in the event that the applicant meets the qualifications for one of the openings set forth below, the applicant will be contacted by a board member regarding any available openings.
The applicant will be invited to attend a board meeting and an informal conversation with the entire board.
The Board will then discuss and deem if a vote to add a new member is appropriate.

BOARD MEMBER CRITERIA

Members should ideally be actively employed, involved, or have significant experience in one or more of the following:

Education, charter, and/or Waldorf background preferred
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Law*
Finance or Accounting – ideally a CPA/accountant/CFO*
Fundraising*
Human Resources
Public Relations/Marketing
Philanthropy/Non-Profit Administration
Insurance
Commercial Real Estate/ Land Development – ideally in school/public arena

*at this time, we have need of these skill sets
